Your NHAND Board has been busy this fall. The Covid-19 pandemic has put an interesting twist into all our plans. We had an in-person meeting on my deck early in September which was extremely productive. Since then, we have moved to meeting virtually. Hopefully the pandemic will take a good turn and we can resume in person meetings and events later this year.
Our committees have been coordinating with one another to maximize our impact. Now that the election is over, the Public Policy Committee has been working on virtual meetings with our Representatives. The Communication Committee has been getting e-blasts out, keeping the webpage up to date, and keeping our Facebook page going. The Professional Development Committee has been working to keep you abreast of educational opportunities. Additionally, they are looking into some virtual programs that we might provide. The Foundation Committee is working tirelessly to support our scholarship program.
My goal for this year is to increase our participation in Action Alerts. It is very easy to do and takes only a minute once you have set up your account. I am amazed at the impact Action Alerts have. It is truly our voice. The Action Alerts are written for you. All you have to do is send them. Of course, you are free to add to them if you choose. They are our way of letting our Representatives know that we are out here and that the work we do makes a difference to everyone. We all eat.
