Alissa Petinge, MS, has been named the 2021 Outstanding Dietetic Student in a Dietetic Internship by the New Hampshire Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (NHAND). Alissa is enrolled in the University of New Hampshire (UNH) Master of Science with Dietetic Internship (MSDI) program. Alissa also serves as a graduate Teaching Assistant for Nutrition in Health and Well Being.
Alissa received her Bachelor of Science degree in dietetics, nutrition, and food science from the University of Vermont in Burlington. While an undergraduate, Alissa worked at the Vermont Medical Center and volunteered for the Chittenden Emergency Food Shelf, the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge and American Red Cross Blood Drives. In addition, Alissa has worked as a Wellness Technician for Good Measures, LLC.
Dr. Amy Taetzsch, Director, Master of Science with Dietetic Internship at UNH, has described Alissa as an exceptional student and person who exudes kindness, consideration, and a genuine concern for others. Alissa serves on a leadership committee in the MSDI program and has exhibited leadership skills in her interactions with undergraduate students as a graduate Teaching Assistant and in her numerous volunteer positions.
Within the dietetic internship portion of the UNH MSDI program, Alissa has excelled in her rotations, has received glowing reviews from her preceptors, and has been approached by several of her internship sites about jobs within their organizations.
Alissa has exhibited much professional potential and well-deserved recognition as the NHAND 2021 Outstanding Dietetic Student in a Dietetic Internship.
